On Thursday, February 13, on the occasion of the Statehood Day of the Republic of Serbia, a reception was held at the Residence of the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia in Paris. Traditional celebration of the Statehood Day of Serbia with guests from French political, cultural, academic and business circles, representatives of the diplomatic corps and distinguished members of the Serbian diaspora as well as representatives of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Paris, were honoured this year with the award ceremony at the city of Jausiers.
After the intonation of the French and Serbian hymns, addressing the guests, Her Excellency Ambassador Nataša Marić stressed that we had just ended a remarkable year in terms of bilateral relations between France and Serbia, in which cooperation and dialogue have intensified in all areas. Then Her Excellency Ambassador Marić gave the floor to Senator Alain Richard who stressed the importance of cooperation between France and Serbia, their historic alliance and accentuated the importance of European integration.
This evening was also the occasion to present the Order attributed to the French city of Jausiers, the mayor, Mr. Lucien GILLY addressed the guests.
